Reading Area Community College in Pennsylvania is one of the latest higher ed institutions to jump on board with Career Coach. The simple yet powerful tool from EMSI gives students information on local jobs and links those jobs back to the college’s education and training.
For RACC, Career Coach “puts us on the cutting edge,” noted Theodore Bassano, senior vice president of business services/treasurer at the college.
Here’s more about Career Coach in a Reading Eagle article over the weekend:
Reading Area Community College has purchased Career Coach, an advanced Web-based application that provides students and other job-seekers up-to-date regional information about the job market and college programs.
“This puts us on the cutting edge,” said Theodore Bassano, senior vice president of business services/treasurer.
Bassano said RACC is one of the first community colleges in the state to get the system, which will be up and running in a few weeks.
“Anybody with a computer will be able to access it,” he said.
Diane M. Marabella, vice president for student success, said the features include regional earnings for each occupation, employment trends for selected occupations and real-time job listings.
Dr. Robert R. Vaughn, vice president of work force and economic development/community education, said the college also purchased the Analyst, a Web-based economic data, labor-market research and forecasting tool for college administrators that goes hand-in-hand with Career Coach.
