EMSI and CareerBuilder Join Forces

MOSCOW, Idaho – EMSI is pleased to announce that it has been purchased by CareerBuilder, the global leader in human capital solutions with the largest job site in the U.S.

The sale comes nearly two years after EMSI starting working with CareerBuilder on a product to help companies better guide their recruitment strategy. The tool, called the Supply and Demand Portal, combines EMSI’s data on labor market trends with CareerBuilder’s extensive database of jobs postings and resumes.

This partnership has been going well, and EMSI and CareerBuilder have been in talks about working even closer because of the highly complementary nature of each other’s datasets and tools. The goal is to develop stronger data-focused products to help businesses, higher education institutions, and job seekers get a better handle on the labor market and career opportunities.

What does CareerBuilder’s purchase of EMSI mean?

1.     CareerBuilder can bring EMSI’s tools and data to its customers.
2.     EMSI will be able to bring CareerBuilder’s data, which includes job postings, nearly 50 million resumes and alumni analytics, to its customers.
3.     EMSI will continue to operate as before — same people, same headquarters … just more data.

EMSI is very excited about the possibilities and has found the people at CareerBuilder to be great to work with. They have a similar vision for jobs, data, and tools to help people.

“This partnership will allow us to bring more decision-ready data to more organizations all along the labor market supply chain,” EMSI CEO Andrew Crapuchettes said. “Our goal is to have a positive impact on the employment situation in the U.S. and beyond.”

Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder, also added, “CareerBuilder is excited to be joining forces with EMSI to deliver a broader and deeper scope of critical labor market information. Our combined historical and real-time data will provide greater insights and a distinct advantage to our clients. Together, we can change the way recruitment and labor market decisions are made.”

CareerBuilder, a privately owned company, is headquartered in Chicago. EMSI is based in the Pacific Northwest (Moscow, Idaho).
