Tailored for reemployment

Career Coach is ideal for helping displaced workers who want to understand their career and retraining options. The tool allows jobseekers to search for any occupation and see the prospects for getting a job in that field. If they are not satisfied, Career Coach provides a list of similar jobs based on the worker's skills and knowledge.

The career transition section of the tool allows users to compare wages, employment trends, and other data from two occupations side by side. They can also see the skill gaps, if any exist, between their desired job and the one they previously held. As with any job, the jobseeker can then look for the associated education and training available for their selected occupation, as well as real-time job postings from Indeed.com.

The tool also allows workforce organizations to highlight regional hot jobs or any other jobs of interest for a particular segment of just-laid-off workers in their area.

The next step: education and training

Once jobseekers find jobs they want to pursue, Career Coach makes it easy for them to contact area colleges and training providers about related education and training. Here workforce boards have the option to include all regional education institutions that are included by the U.S. Department of Education's IPEDS, or only the regional training providers of their choice.

Building a resume and exporting

Career Coach now has a powerful resume builder so jobseekers can go from researching a job to applying for one in just a few simple steps. And if they need more time for research or are unsure of which direction they want to go, they can save the results from their Career Coach search in a simple report for future use.
