We’re pleased to announce some exciting enhancements to our labor market data analysis tool, Analyst. On top of an assortment of upgrades and bug fixes, there are three main changes we want to highlight:
1. You can now search for and select regions much more quickly and easily.
Once you go into the “Create Region” page, you’ll see five geography categories depending on your data package: Nation, State, MSA, County, and ZIP. Analyst now has pre-built regions for the entire US and each state, meaning it takes mere seconds to get going with your research and analysis.
There’s also a new search function where you can easily find counties, states, MSAs, etc. by typing just a few letters into the search box. (For more on our regional comparison functionality, check out this video.)
2. The EMSI GIS tool just got speedier and more robust.
Our mapping tool is a great way to visualize what’s happening in your region, and it now gives you results quicker than ever. You can flip between regions and choose between industries, occupations, businesses, educational attainment, and more.
Here, for example, is the percentage growth of manufacturing (at the 2-digit industry level) for all Texas MSAs from 2002-09. You could also simultaneously compare these data to surrounding states, or dig into county-level numbers depending on your preference.
3. The customer service chat feature is in a new place, and much improved.
Once logged in, you can access our customer service staff by simply clicking the green “chat” button at the bottom righthand corner of the page. It also displays how many customer service reps are available before clicking.
If you have any questions on the changes, feel free to use the chat feature or email Rob Sentz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
