On March 25, 2014, EMSI will conduct a webinar addressing “Sector Strategies: Why They Are Important and How to Develop One.”
Many workforce investment boards and economic development corporations and organizations work with sector strategies, but nearly everyone has a different understanding of what a sector strategy is. This webinar will address that confusion, illustrating an economic approach to defining a sector analysis and demonstrating how such an approach can be used with industries and the workforce.
- What are sector strategies?
- How do regional economies function?
- Key tools for sector strategy development
- Case study: Kentucky Workforce System
“Sector Strategies itself is seen as an opportunity to align resources within Kentucky — education, economic development, and workforce development resources — to prepare the workforce to meet the employer need in Kentucky and to grow the economy of the Commonwealth.” — Beth Brinly, Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Investment, Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet
