EMSI is very excited to introduce a handful of new updates to Analyst, our web-based labor market data and analysis tool. We’ve been working on these for a while and hope they will help our clients to do even more with our data.
Skills & Certifications Added to Job Postings Analytics
As part of our major Analyst interface update earlier this year, we introduced job postings analytics. This add-on report to Analyst has already been very well received by many of the colleges, workforce investment boards, and other organizations we work with who value the perspective job postings provide and the context we’ve added by showing the relationship between de-duplicated postings and actual hires.
We’re now very pleased to bring occupation skills and certifications into our new JPA report. We’re still considering this a beta release, but those of you who have already purchased the JPA add-on will see this new data immediately. The skills and certifications, available only at the national level at this time, are organized by concentration. For example, if requests for a skill are most concentrated in one particular occupation, it means that that skill differentiates that occupation from others. This means that only the most relevant skills and certifications for each occupation will be shown.
In addition, the JPA report now shows the most commonly listed work environments (as found in job postings) by occupation.
New Analyst Interface Live for All U.S. Analyst Clients
When we launched the new Analyst on Aug. 1, many of our clients immediately jumped at the opportunity to move to the new tool and have given us lots of positive feedback. As of this latest update, we have moved our remaining clients over to the new interface as well. Any users that would still like to be able to navigate back to the previous interface will still be able to for a limited time. Just select Old Analyst from the My Analyst menu.
And More …
We have many smaller updates that we’ve launched. Several of these are reintroductions of features from our previous versions that are back by popular demand. Here are just a few:
- You can now view more that 10 skills or businesses in JPA.
- The occupation overview report has reintroduced some client favorites, including occupation description, regional breakdown (complete with popular maps), custom comparison regions, and more.
- Location quotient has returned to demographics maps.
- Click-the-map and radius-from-click have also returned to maps.
We have been working hard to get these updates published, and we have a number of others in the works. We’re always trying to improve our products and services. Thank you for your ongoing feedback and support.
