The job posting that stands out the most is product manager. While product managers can be classified within either IT or business/finance, we thought they fit in well in IT because so many product managers are needed to manage and maintain the massive proliferation of SaaS throughout nearly every industry. There are currently over 23,000 unique job postings for product managers each month. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that employers are placing as many as seven ads per job, indicating an acute search for talent.
Everyone knows that health care is a growing field and that nurses can often find a job without a problem. Right now, over 8.6 million people work in health care jobs, which have grown by over 600,000 job since 2012.
What folks might be surprised to hear is that the demand for jobs like intensive care nurse are seeing a tremendous amount of online job activity: 11 ads for every job available. More than 220,000 total postings from over 20,000 unique locations are posted each month, telling us that p are desperate to find ICU nurses.
The health care jobs with the most unique postings are physical therapists and family practitioners—50,000 and 44,000 postings per month, respectively.
Over 16 million people work in sales. Since 2012, sales jobs have grown by 914,000 jobs (6% growth). As you might notice, the wages on our graphic are a bit lower than other calculations. This is because 9 million of the 16 million sales workers are classified in retail sales, where sales jobs tend to be entry-level and offer lower earnings. For sales opportunities in the professional services and manufacturing sectors, which employ about 4 million people, the wages come up significantly; the average is $30 per hour.
The sales job that caught our attention is account executives. There are some 246,000 job postings from 24,000 locations [per month]—10 ads per opportunity. Account managers and business development managers are also in high demand, both seeing well over 100,000 total jobs postings per month.
