Travel season is upon us, and domestic airlines are facing a severe pilot shortage that isn’t going away any time soon. In fact, according to a recent CNN article, the U.S. will need to train 87 new pilots every day for the next 20 years to meet growing demand. What’s causing this shortage, and what can we do about it?
As we continue to filter through the data in our latest release (EMSI’s 2011.4 dataset), we notice that many occupations related to science and research are also doing quite well. The actual category of occupations (SOC 19) is referred to as “life, physical, and social science occupations.”
